Overview
Entelliteq (previously IR Tech) has provided critical leadership and expertise to the GCSS-MC PMO, and other programs, in their efforts to address legacy logistic system and logistics data deficiencies. Logistics Modernization is an effort to transform its logistics data management policies, procedures, and technical strategies from legacy thinking and stove-piped information systems derived in the 1970s. Marine Corp logistics personnel have long complained about the lack of interfaces between legacy systems and where interfaces existed, the existence of data migration bottlenecks and inefficient manual data transformations. All things considered, these legacy system deficiencies created a lack of trust in the supply logistics data which resulted in the tendency of commanders to over-request supplies and to create a large supply storage and disposal challenge.
Entelliteq supported these efforts and assisted the USMC to create an integrated and modern logistics capability with the goal of providing the logistics information crucial to USMC operational commanders and the warfighter, whether in garrison or on the battlefield. We advocate a holistic view of data management strategy and data integration approaches under a portfolio management approach to data. Portfolio management is evaluating strategies and approaches, investing time and money in the best of them, and delivering benefits that match expectations. The transformation envisioned under logistics modernization provides data integrated into a streamlined logistics supply chain that is designed to deliver enhanced supply and maintenance functionality. In order to meet the needs of the decision-makers and the warfighter, it is essential to transform raw data into data that allows for effective decision-making.
Capabilities
Entelliteq brings a strong blend of military and commercial expertise that are skilled at understanding logistics processes and drivers, identification of the problem space, envisioning the end state, and delivering data management and data integration processes and strategies. We bring knowledge and experience in critical areas such as:
- Data Management strategy and planning
- Data Quality strategy and planning
- Web Service standards and specifications such as SOAP, WSDL, WS-Security
- Registration of Web Services in accordance with the DoD Net-Centric Data Strategy
- Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and interface Memorandums of Agreements (MOAs) with internal information systems and external agents
- Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) planning and design
- Data profiling and cleaning
- Data conversion development and Data Quality (DQ) assurance
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system integration
Entelliteq provides vital insight into data management and integration and their importance for delivering a holistic functional and technical solution. We have the ability to transform abstract requirements into well-defined, executable plans, identify and quantify internal and external impacts of the strategies we advocate, establish the correct sequencing and timing of all integration tasks, and acknowledge the importance of communication (both internal and external), all of which are essential to successfully deliver modern logistics capabilities to operational commanders and the warfighter.
Value
Entelliteq’s approach to data management provides a strategic portfolio view to data management and focused execution of the agreed-upon data integration strategy. This combination translates into a strong Return On Investment (ROI) through value drivers such as:
- Ability to design and implement net-centric strategies
- Ability to meet data quality and compliance objectives
- Simplify the process of system-to-system data integration
- Implement actionable plans that drive data quality and data assurance programs
- Reduction of implementation timeframes (cost, schedule, performance efficiencies)
The goal is to implement a data management program that enables the fielding of a COTS solution designed to provide logistics commanders and planners, at the Joint and/or Marine Corps level, an integrated, accurate logistical supply-chain view. Our strategy advocates data integration between internal and external data sources coupled with the fusion of related data to provide a real-world object, accurate, and useful representation of logistics data in near real-time.
In doing so, the situational awareness of analysts and decision-makers would be maximized with supply and demand decision making and prioritization improvement, and the logistics pipeline would deliver material resources when needed and where requested.
